NAF Airstrikes Reportedly Kill Scores of Terrorists in Zamfara, Destroy Key Hideouts Scores of

terrorists have been reportedly neutralised in Zamfara State after Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets bombarded their enclave in Sauri, Tsafe Local Government Area.

The precision strikes National Beam learnt also destroyed major terrorist structures and logistics hubs, in what security officials believe will significantly diminish the criminals’ operational capabilities.

The operation occurred just a day after the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, announced the deployment of additional troops and issued a directive for intensified action against armed groups across the state.

In a statement on Thursday, NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the airstrikes were executed on November 14 following “comprehensive intelligence and surveillance operations” that confirmed heavy terrorist presence and rustled livestock hidden in a fortified high-ground location serving as both a defensive shelter and logistics base.

He said the Air Component launched coordinated strikes on the targets, scoring direct hits that forced surviving terrorists to flee into the surrounding vegetation, where they were tracked and neutralised.

“The mission resulted in the neutralisation of numerous terrorists and the destruction of critical structures and logistics points, significantly degrading the criminals’ operational capability in the area,” the statement read.

Ejodame added that the successful strikes aligned with the directive of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, to “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”

NAF noted that the operation reflects the Joint Task Force’s determination under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to deny terrorists safe havens, boost security in Zamfara, and support broader national efforts to restore peace across the North West.
