Ogwa Ward A Councilorship: Ehirim Vows To Initiate Developments, Economic Stability In Communities

Ahead of the awaited Councilorship Election in Ogwa Ward A, Mbaitoli LGA of Imo state,a frontline aspirant of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the ward,Comr.Rufus Udobata Ehirim,has promised to initiate socio-infrastructural developments and economic stability in his locality,in continuation and consolidation of Gov.Hope Uzodimma’s 3-R mantra.

Speaking in an interview with journalists in Owerri on Saturday, August,31,2024, the APC Councilorship hopeful noted that, to correct the anomalies of past representation,make Ogwa Ward A a centre of attraction,as well as to promote youths and women empowerment programmes largely informed his decision to contest the councilorship election in the ward.

He further informed that, to also unite the people of Ogwa Ward A in football and other sporting activities as a veritable tool for community and national unity and cohesion, togetherwith the urgent need to bring about the elusive dividends of democracy to the grassroots are part of the reasons for which he decided to run the election, among others.

Comr.Ehirim however, maintained that he chose the All Progressive Congress, APC as a platform for the election because he has been a dogged member of the APC ever since the party came into existence, adding that APC is the only political party in Nigeria that can bring the desirable dividends of democracy to the common citizenry at ease.

According to him,as an influential leader,he has succeeded in eradicating the intake of illicit hard drugs among the youths in his community and beyond, even as he encouraged the youths to engage in skillful and enterpreneurship businesses to better their livilihoods,while emphasizing that the policy has put a halt to all manner of social vices and sundry illegal activities in the ward and environs.

Ehirim stated that,at the party level,he has always been an opinion moulder of repute whose ideas have brought togetherness,unity of purpose and sense of belonging to the party,as his contributions, commitment and support to his ward have engendered the growth and development of the ward.

He used the occasion in commending the Governor of Imo state,Sen.Hope Uzodimma-led Shared Prosperity administraton, describing it as one with good track record that deserves sustainability,positing that it requires a committed and faithful party loyalist to emerge as candidate of the party based on consensus,in order to further the 3-R policy-thrust of the Governor in the grassroots.

The APC Councilorship aspirant also appealed for support of the people of Ogwa Ward A in both the primary and main elections, and urged the party leadership to do the needful,hence, the zoning arrangement in the ward favours his aspiration.

Comr.Ehirim hails from Umuaro-Oburo in Umunneato-Ishi-Ogwa Autonomous Community, Ogwa Ancient Kingdom, Mbaitoli LGA of Imo state.
