Solar Lights: Imo NDDC Rep Lights Up Izombe Community, Assures Other Communities

By Chidi Ezenwa
The Imo State representative on the board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon Dr Kyrian Chidiebere Uchegbu has successfully lit up the Umuele community, the gateway to Izombe clan in Oguta local government area of Imo State with NDDC powered solar street lights.
This is in line with his last Easter message in which he promised that deserving communities in Imo State would soon be supplied with the NDDC powered solar lights.
Last Friday, the people of Izombe found themselves in joyful mood as Dr Uchegbu led the commission to flag off the Operation Light Up Niger Delta in Umuele and its environs.
During the commissioning, the Imo NDDC commissioner who also hails from Izombe clan, assured  that Izombe and the rest of the communities in Imo State, especially those from the oil producing areas would benefit from the project as it would get down to all nooks and crannies of all communities in the state. But maintained that “everything is premised on patience and collective security of public property.’
He also stated that beyond the solar powered street lights, Izombe would be greeted with other essential infrastructural amenities that would transform the clan to a modern town of 21st century.
Dr Uchegbu seized the opportunity afforded by the commissioning to sue for peace in Izombe, maintaining that ” peace remains the bedrock for more projects that will enhance social and economic development”.
The NDDC commissioner had before now illuminated the exit village of Izombe, Umuorji, and many communities in the state.
