ABUJA – Who deserves national recognition for outstanding contributions to society? The Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) has officially opened nominations for its 2026 National Awards, inviting Nigerians to identify and celebrate individuals making remarkable impacts across different sectors.
The National President of GOMEP-NG, Comr. Akpovoke Otiti, announced the commencement of the nomination exercise in Abuja, describing the annual awards as one of the organisation’s flagship initiatives for recognising excellence, integrity, innovation and selfless service.
According to Otiti, the 2026 awards will celebrate outstanding personalities who have distinguished themselves in business, entertainment, leadership, technology, politics, education, public service, community development and other areas of national life.
He explained that the initiative is designed to recognise individuals whose exceptional achievements have inspired positive change and contributed significantly to national development.
“Do you know someone making a remarkable impact in your institution or community? This is the time to give such a person the recognition they deserve,” Otiti stated.
The GOMEP-NG President called on organisations, institutions, professional bodies and members of the public to nominate deserving individuals, emphasising that outstanding contributions should not go unnoticed.
He further encouraged qualified individuals with verifiable records of achievement to nominate themselves, assuring prospective nominees that all submissions would undergo a transparent screening and verification process before the final selection of award recipients.
Otiti noted that the GOMEP-NG National Awards represent a platform for celebrating individuals whose dedication, vision and accomplishments continue to inspire others and contribute to Nigeria’s progress.
