95 Princes, Princesses Jostle for Awujale Stool as Nomination Begins

No fewer than 95 princes and princesses from the Fusengbuwa Ruling House have formally declared interest in ascending the prestigious stool of the Awujale of Ijebuland.

The Olori Ebi of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Otunba Jadiara Lateef Owoyemi, disclosed this on Tuesday at the commencement of the ruling house’s nomination meeting held at Bisi Rodipe Hall, GRA, Ijebu-Ode.

The meeting was attended by other prominent leaders of the ruling house, including the Deputy Olori Ebi, Otunba Ajidagba, Chairman, Chief Fassy Yusuf, and other key stakeholders.

Addressing participants, Otunba Owoyemi, a former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), explained that the names of aspirants who successfully scale the first stage of the screening process would be forwarded to the Afobajes.

According to him, the Afobajes will subsequently select one candidate to emerge as the next Awujale of Ijebuland and transmit the chosen name to the Ogun State Government for final approval.

He added that any individual or group dissatisfied with the nomination process is free to channel their grievances through the appropriate government authorities.
