The heightening tension over the increasing number of aspirants jostling to occupy the Seat of the Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli Local Government Council In the awaited Local Government Chairmanship Election in Imo state,has been doused following the recent endorsement of Engr.Fidelis Akuchie as consensus aspirant from Mbieri nation (Mbaitoli-East geo-political bloc) ahead of the election under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Addressing newsmen in his country-home,Umuonyeali, Ezinihite-Mbieri in Mbaitoli LGA of the state on Tuesday, August,13,2024,Engr. Akuchie, said that he is going to run an all-inclusive administraton if elected the Council Boss of Mbaitoli LGA in the awaited Election, adding that despite criticisms that trailed his aspiration in Mbieri clan in particular,he shall carry all and sundry along in the scheme of things without undue discrimination against any bloc,be it Mbaitoli-South or North.
The APC Mbaitoli LGA Council Chairmanship hopeful further informed that, as a seasoned technocrat, civil servant and community leader who knows the heart-beat of the people of Mbaitoli LGA,the urgent need to improve the standard of living of his people of Mbaitoli LGA reputed as the’ most-populous LGA in Imo state largely informed his decision to contest the Mbaitoli Local Government Council Chairmanship Election,and for the overall betterment of the people.
According to him,key economic sectors such as agriculture, quality primary health care delivery, genuine youth and women empowerment schemes, and security of lives and properties of Mbaitoli indegenes are top-most in his development agenda,if given the opportunity to serve as elected Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA in the awaited Council Elections.
Engr.Akuchie, however posited also that he will ensure that Mbaitoli LGA is given deserving infrastructural facelift by way of providing for social-basic amenities, such as quality access roads to link communities across , among others elusive overtime, even as he promised to provide other social-infrastructural development prospects commensurate to the size and numerical strength of the LGA in Imo state.
He maintained that those who will vote and against him in the awaited election shall benefit immense dividends of democracy if elected as the Council Boss,while appealing for massive support by the people of the various geo-political blocs in Mbaitoli LGA.
