*REFLECTIONS*

As a Media Professional and Labour Unionist, I was deeply appalled by the premeditated State conspiracy against Nd’Igbo and the hatchet agenda of the Western Nigerian Press in sustaining the ethno-centric conspiracy that spurred me and some associates to convene iGBO MEDIA PROFESSIONALS (iMP).

This apparent marginalisation of Nd’Igbo in the Nigeria body polity and scheme of things has accentuated by aspiration to join mainstream national politics.

Alongside my passionate pursuit for the emergence of a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction, is my spirited push for the constitutional creation of a sixth State for the South East Zone.

This vision, conviction and passion inspired me to found *UGO-ANIOMA MOVEMENT* for the Actualisation of Anioma State Creation. Five years ago, I received a divine revelation to convene a community and people-driven movement, christened the *UGO-ANIOMA MOVEMENT.

*UGO-ANIOMA MOVEMENT* , which I am the Convener and President, was conceived as a socio-cultural and political pressure group to promote and project the causes of the Igbo Bloc in Delta (Ndi Anioma).

We began civic and public engagements in 2022, showing significant presence in the 2023 Nigeria General Elections with very consequential outcomes.

However, *UGO-ANIOMA MOVEMENT* bloomed into full moon in 2024, when the Senator representing Delta North in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Prince Ned Nwoko sponsored a Bill in the Senate, reviving the quest for the creation of Anioma State as sixth State of the South East and the 37th State of the Nigerian Federation.

Ever since 2024, *UGO-ANIOMA MOVEMENT* has worked with the most distinguished Senator on community and media advocacy, sensitisation and grassroots mobilisation at every legislative stage of the Anioma State Creation Bill.

Shortly after the presentation of the Bill on the floor of Red Chambers, Senator Ned Nwoko convened an ever memorable Anioma Stakeholders Summit on August 31, 2024 and as Convener and President of *UGO-ANIOMA MOVEMENT, I served* as the Secretary of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the very successful and widely acclaimed consultative summit.

The second reading passed and then came the Public Hearing of the Anioma State Creation Bill at Ikot-Ekpene, Akwa-Ibom State and Enugu, where *UGO-ANIOMA MOVEMENT* fully mobilised stakeholders from across the nine LGAs of Delta North and presented a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to the NASS Joint Committee on Constitutional Amendment/Review.

Besides, *UGO-ANIOMA MOVEMENT* has continued to engage traditional leaders, community-based groups and stakeholders, whilst hosting a grassroots radio sensitisation progamme – ITAA- ANIOMA – on Trend and Quest FM Radios.

Haven played these strategic roles in the renewed quest for the actualisation of Anioma State Creation, we cannot allow detractors and Anti-Anioma political elements to derail this decades-long dream of our people.

*ACTION PLAN – WAY FORWARD**

Politics remains the vehicle for the actualisation of the dreams, aspirations and development of our communities and people. With the right, fit and proper calibre of men and women in public/political positions, these envisioned objectives are possible.

After critical observation of political developments in Nigeria today, I tactfully join forces with a coalition of other progressive forces in Delta State on the platform of the NIGERIA DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC).

With the benefit of foresight, I reengineered Ugo-Anioma Movement to become a forerunner, foundational, pioneer driver of the NDC in my LGA (Aniocha South), my Aniocha-Oshimili Federal Constituency and  Delta North District.

Since February I have been mobilising my people of Anioma, supporters, friends, well-wishers, allies and associates to join me in NDC as we restore the genuine hope and  aspirations of our people are rebuild our nation, Nigeria.

I do not want to just be an onlooker or a cynical spectator in the unfolding politics heralding the 2027 general elections.  After deep communion with my God and due consultations with my family, my church, friends and close associates, I have therefore resolved to answer the persistent call to REPRESENT THE BLESSED PEOPLE OF ANIOCHA-OSHIMILI IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, ABUJA.

*MANDATE/PLEDGE*

*To work assiduously in Anioma (Delta North) and Delta State to deliver the election victory ✌️ of all Candidates of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), with critical attention on H.E. Okwute Peter Obi and his running mate, H.E. Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwakwanaso as the President and Vice President of Nigeria in 2027.

*Accentuate the push and actualisation of of Anioma State Creation as the Sixth

*Accelerate urbanisation and the ‘cosmopolitanisation’ of the entire federal constituency – power and infrastructure

*Support the living standard of the needy and indigent

*Transformative digital tech schemes for youths and the productive force

*Scholarship schemes for students and school children

*Socio-economic schemes in farming/agriculture, small-scale businesses/enterprises

*Social security, rejuvenal schemes for the elderly

*Widows/Single parents support scheme
*Critical Health interventions in my Federal Constituency

*Erase the distrust and restore confidence among the OBIDIENTS over the betrayal of the incumbent, Hon. Ngozi Okolie, who was graciously (on a platter), elected to the House of Representatives, Aniocha-Oshimili Federal Constituency.
