Former Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.) has paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu.
This took place Yesterday, Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Ibas, who left office on September 17 following the end of a six-month emergency rule in the state, National gathered arrived at the State House around 6 p.m, in company of the Finance Minister, Wale Edun and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede.
Although details of the closed-door meeting were not disclosed, a presidency source suggested discussions centered on Ibas’ stewardship during the emergency administration.
This visit is coming just three days after Ibas publicly dismissed moves by the Rivers State House of Assembly to investigate financial activities under his tenure.
It would be recalled that the Rivers Assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, had during its first sitting after democracy returned to the state, resolved to probe withdrawals from the consolidated revenue fund, contract approvals, and other financial decisions made during the six-month period of emergency rule.
