Ikeduru Chairman, Nze Bags Icon of Imo LG Award

The Executive Chairman of Ikeduru Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Justice Nze, has been honoured by the Imo State Federated Chapel (Association of Local Information Officers) with the Icon of Imo Local Government Award in recognition of his “outstanding leadership and contributions to grassroots development”.

This took place on Thursday at Rockview in Owerri, during the association’s maiden edition of Annual LG Performance Award.

Speaking after receiving the award, Nze expressed gratitude to the organisers and the people of Ikeduru for acknowledging his efforts.

“I’m very elated and feel truly honoured. This recognition means a lot to me because it shows that my people are watching and appreciating the work I am doing. To whom much is given, much is expected — so I’m motivated to do even more,” he said.

Nze noted that the award is a reflection of his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of residents across Ikeduru.

In line with that commitment, the council boss averred,” It is my desire to put smiles on people’s faces. Just today, I and my wife, Mrs. Chidinma Justice Nze, JP Chairperson of Ikeduru LGA, empowered over 200 indigent women with cash gifts.

“This is part of our efforts in cushioning the effect of the harsh economic realities faced by many families and to support them, especially the women, who are the pillars of their homes.

“The situation in the country is not very favourable, and so no matter how small it is, this is our little way of touching lives,’Nze reiterated’.

Adding his voice, the Chief Administrator of the Local Government Area, Chuks Okoro, described the executive chairman as one of the outstanding leaders the council has had in recent times.

Okoroma noted that Nze’s leadership style is anchored on transparency, accountability, and strict adherence to due process.

“The Executive Chairman of Ikeduru is one man I can attest truly believes in due process and the dictates of proper administration in everything he does.

“There is no community in Ikeduru that does not feel the impact of his administration. He is deeply connected to the people and ensures that they feel and know the true essence of leadership”.

The event drew commendations from other dignitaries and residents who described Nze as a dedicated and people-oriented leader committed to grassroots development.
