The Federal House of Representative Member, representing Ideato Federal Constituency, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere has called on the National Working Committee, NWC of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to expel the National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and Minister of FCT, Nyesome Wike from the party.
He also urged for Amb. Umar Damagum to be removed as the National Chairman, and someone from the North Central appointed as Substantive National Chairman of the party.
He in the same vein, announced Chief Chris Odomenam as the Acting Imo State Chairman of PDP
Ikenga who was in company of other PDP stakeholders, disclosed this on Friday at his home town in Ideato North LGA, while addressing his people and PDP faithfuls on matters bothering the LGA, and the state of PDP.
Speaking the lawmaker averred that Anyanwu, Wike, and Damagum are almost destroying PDP, which is pushing members of the party into defecting to other parties.
He continued that PDP may go into extinction in Nigeria, if nothing is done to stall their activities in the party.
He therefore urged the National Working Committee of the party to rise up to the occasion and adhere to their call.
According to him,” For two good years now, damagum has stayed with Anyanwu in PDP to carry out a very shameful act of decimating the party. I listened and heard Damagum say that our faith is in God’s hands – that is rubbish and arrant nonsense. Why is he bringing God into this now, where was God when he filled a matter at the court against our own PDP in support of those lawmakers who defected from PDP to APC in Rivers State, which led to the crisis of Emergency today in Rivers.
“Why didn’t he remember God when he decided to give party structure to members of the APC, and when he was helping all those treacherous persons that were destroying the party. He gave Wike the permission to join the APC while he remained in PDP. He was the one encouraging our members to decamp to other parties, and now he is opening his mouth to say our faith is in God’s hands. He is even still sitting in a position he has no legal right to be in, he is indeed a very wicked man.
“It is on this premise that I want to alert party members, that Damagum and Anyanwu has perfected a new plot to ensure that the May NEC meeting to rectify these issues does not hold, and for the August Convention to be aborted as well if they will not be reelected to complete the destruction of the party.
“We have also discovered a new judiciary move they have made at the Federal High Court by filling a case against some members of the NWC, Another to declare vacant the seats of some lawmakers, including myself.
“Damagum Anyanwu and the pro-wike group are not stopping despite the damage they have done to this ones glorious party. Why would Wike want to destroy an institution that made him who he is. This is quite shameful, but it is more disheartening that leaders of this party instead of standing up to fight these men, are running away.
“I have also confirmed that 40 lawmakers, and two governors elected under the platform of our party, are about to decamp from the party in coming weeks due to this crisis.
“So I call on the members of NWC to know that the whole world is watching them, and if they want to be taken serious, two critical things must be done – to call for an emergency meeting, and ensure the unconditional expulsion of Samuel Anyanwu, and Nyesome Wike from the party. Secondly, remove Damagum as the National Chairman of the party, and appoint a North-Central person as the substantive Chairman of our party.
“Imo PDP has rectified the earlier expulsion of Senator Anyanwu, we want the NWC to recognize this and ensure that the necessary resolution is passed to send the political traitor out of the party. Here in Imo we don’t know who Anyanwu is, we only know him as an APC agent and, a political coward who has allowed himself to be used as the one that will bury African’s biggest opposition party, PDP. What a shame !
“This is the demand of stakeholders of the party, for nobody can take the party serious if ordinary expulsion of those who are committed to killing the party cannot be carried out by NWC. Yes it may be a problem at the initial stage, but we will survive it rather than allow them carry out the final decimation of the party. No country can function effectively without opposition, and so the leadership of the party must act fast to rescue the party,’ Ikenga asserted’.
He further pointed out that because there was no state Congress in Imo, that Chief Chris Odomenam, has been appointed as the new acting State Chairman of Imo PDP
He therefore called on the NWC to immediately recognize the new Interim Executive of Imo PDP in view of the fact that there is vacancy in Imo PDP, adding that they should also disregard any other person parading himself as the State Chairman of Imo PDP.
He in the same vein, appreciated the Federal Government for tackling the erosion menace at Umuchima in Ideato LGA, and urged they also look into the ones at Isiokpo, Obodo-Ukwu, Uruala, Amarato-Umueze, which he said the erosion there has cut through almost all the major towns in the LGA.
