Onuimo lawmaker, Esile bags Award of Excellence from NUT

The National Union of Teachers, Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State branch, has bestowed an Award of Excellence on the Legislator representing the State Constituency, Hon. Uba. James Esile, popularly known as Fresh Air.

Esile was accorded the honour on Thursday at his office in the State House of Assembly, when executives of the union paid a visit to him.

In his address, the Chairman of the NUT Onuimo branch, Comrade Njoku Victor Chidiebere averred,’ It is our pleasure to recognize your numerous contributions to the development of education in Onuimo Local Government Area. For example, you have consistently brought joy to many families in Onuimo LGA, as you have freely registered many candidates for the on-going 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

“These candidates were chosen systematically from the ten INEC wards in Onuimo Local Government Area. These candidates, some of them would have dropped out of school, but you have brought hope, joy and fulfillment of destiny in their lives and their families.

“Education is the best legacy every child must acquire, and you have empowered them to obtain West African Senior School Certificate.

“As a result of this, the Nigeria Union of Teacher (N.U.T.) Onuimo Branch has come to say applaud you, Honourable Chief Uba James Esile with this AWARD of EXCELLENCE: For your Outstanding Performance Towards Educational Development in Onuimo Local Government Area.

“You have sown a good seed in the land of Onuimo. God has seen this your goodwill and our prayer as NUT and prayer of these candidates is that God will continue to make ways for you, to protect, to preserve and provide for you and your family in Jesus name.

“We are very grateful for all you have done, and NUT Onuimo Branch is encouraging you to continue in this good work, for the Almighty God will not fail to reward you”.

They also in the same vein appealed for him to support the NUT Onuimo Branch especially as they will host Okigwe Zonal NUT Executive Council meeting in few months to come.

“We plead that you support NUT Executives Financially in order to run the affairs of the union effectively. To include atleast the NUT Onuimo Branch Executives in your December packages. To donate to the teachers in the LGA for their lesson plan 80 leaves long note book written ‘Honourable Chief Uba James Esile, House Member Representing Onuimo Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, ‘they appealed.

In response, the Onuimo lawmaker, Hon. Uba James Esile expressed joy over the award and thanked the union members for finding him worthy to be honoured with such.

Saying that he knows the pertinence of education to the children, averred that he will continue to do his best to ensure that he contributes his quota to support the young youths.

He also assured them of further looking into some of the quest they required of him.
